Twitter

A Twitter discussion would only be limited to the 140 characters that Twitter allows. Even if you bypass that by threading the tweets, it would be clunky and unhelpful. That hurts it when it is compared with blackboard as a blackboard discussion thread allows for an unlimited amount of characters and it is a much smoother and easier thread building. When compared to an in-class discussion, well there is no comparison since an in-class discussion will always trump anything online as the classroom setting is more engaging than anything that an online discussion can offer.
