New media fosters creativity in ways that old media could not. In today's media world, we see people inspired to create content since everything has the possibility to become viral. Nowadays we all see these content creators making and spreading their videos and people become inspired since they think that they can achieve that level of success. Also, with the internet we have access to many different forms of content and that leads to mashups. This was evident with the article in the New Yorker named "1+1+1=1" where it details the phenomenon where people have created mashups since they are inspired to fix the song or even create their own in the process.
